Beth Arcese, LM, MA
“Birth is transformative for every parent and every baby. What I love about this practice is that we’re able to walk alongside families through that transformation, providing safety, wisdom, and compassion, wherever their story unfolds.”
Beth Arcese is a licensed midwife devoted to providing compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based care that honors every family’s unique birth story. A mother of three, she understands how deeply birth shapes who we are as parents, as individuals, and as communities and strives to ensure her patients feel informed, supported, and empowered.
Beth has been a part of the Bellingham community since 1996. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in 2002, she began caring for families as a doula and childbirth educator as she grew her own family. After completing a rigorous midwifery program, Beth obtained her Midwifery License in Washington State in 2012 and opened Salish Sea Midwifery where she cared for families planning to give birth at home and the Bellingham Birth Center for eleven years.
In 2017, she completed her Master’s in Maternal Child Health Systems at Bastyr University, focusing on improving outcomes and equity in maternity care. She has served on the Board of the Midwives Association of Washington State, the Smooth Transitions Workgroup at the Foundation for Healthcare Quality, and as adjunct faculty in Bastyr University’s Midwifery Department.
Beth believes that midwifery is both an art and a science, a sacred partnership built on trust, collaboration, dignity and care.
In her free time, Beth loves exploring nature, literature, music and spending time with her three children, friends and family in this unbelievable corner of the world we get to call home.
